Sports Facilities In September, 1991 Kadushin Associates won the Panstadia International Award for Design Excellence for a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena which competed against 300 other arenas and stadiums from 88 countries throughout the world. This award symbolized the best in conceptual design of sports facilities, and represents a totally new direction for this particular building type. What sets this multi-use arena apart from the current state-of-the-art is illustrated by the following features: Ideal Seating Arrangement, User Friendly Design, Lower Building Cost, Reduced Operating Expenses, Program Flexibility, Superior Acoustics, Efficient Land Use, Landmark Architecture. A number of respected American journals including Popular Mechanics (2001), Skybox (1999), Design News (September 1968), Progressive Architecture (September 1970), Scholastic Coach (January 1972), Athletic Business (July 1991), have written about this innovative arena. It has also been included in the Worldwide Guide to Stadium Newbuild and Management (Panstadia/Executive Publications, 1991) and several other international journals.
