Sports
Facilities
In September,
1991 Kadushin Associates won the Panstadia International Award for Design Excellence
for a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena which competed against 300
other arenas and stadiums from 88 countries throughout the world. This award
symbolized the best in conceptual design of sports facilities, and represents
a totally new direction for this particular building type. What sets this multi-use
arena apart from the current state-of-the-art is illustrated by the following
features: Ideal Seating Arrangement, User Friendly Design, Lower Building Cost,
Reduced Operating Expenses, Program Flexibility, Superior Acoustics, Efficient
Land Use, Landmark Architecture. A number of respected American journals including
Popular Mechanics (2001), Skybox (1999), Design News (September 1968), Progressive
Architecture (September 1970), Scholastic Coach (January 1972), Athletic Business
(July 1991), have written about this innovative arena. It has also been included
in the Worldwide Guide to Stadium Newbuild and Management (Panstadia/Executive
Publications, 1991) and several other international journals.
